Nebraska Now: Bonnie O’Connell, Bookmaking

Associate Professor of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Bonnie O’Connell specializes in book arts. For her Nebraska Now exhibition, O’Connell brings her non-traditional books that incorporate printmaking and letterpress and includes books that range from three-dimensional sculptural hangings to those that incorporate feathers and fiber. O’Connell teaches book arts at UNO where she directs The Fine Arts Press and Abattoir Editions. Her private imprint, The Penumbra Press, has a 35-year history of fine printing. Her work is included in over 40 fine press or artist’s book collections.
