Student Art Show

April 19 – May 15, 2011 —

During five weeks in spring, the Museum of Nebraska Art (MONA) is festive with artwork created by the next generation of artists. Participating schools include Kearney Public Schools, Kearney Catholic High School, and the surrounding school districts of Buffalo County, Kearney County, and Phelps County. Selected by the art teachers, five exhibitions, each on view for one week, showcase different schools and their students:

Each of the exhibiting students is presented with a certificate to commemorate his or her selection. MONA hosts six receptions where the art teachers, the exhibiting students, their families and friends together with school administrators celebrate the achievements of these artistically gifted young people. The MONA Guild’s Education Committee and MONA Docents assist with hosting the over 1,200 people who attend these receptions.
