Bill Hammon was a Nebraska-based artist probably best known for the facade mural on the Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln. Co-created with Leonard Theissen, the monumental mosaic at the time was the largest in the United States, measuring 83 by 140 feet and comprised of over 750,000 1” tiles. Hammon, well regarded by Omaha architects and designers, created many mid-century works that were showcased in homes and public buildings in the area.
