Hill received his B.A. from Albion College in Avion, Michigan in 1956, and his M.F.A. in 1958 from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Hill has been included in over sixty juried and invitaional exhibitions and has had more than eighteen one-person shows. Though he considers himself a painter, he is well versed in drawing, printmaking, and sculpture as well. Hill is the recipient of the Ford Foundation Purchase Award and the Sears Foundation Award. He is featured in the permanent collections of the Sheldon Art Gallery, the Joslyn Art Museum, and the Museum of Nebraska Art. He currently is a Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he has been a faculty member since 1958.
