Using traditional embroidery techniques, Jennifer Bockelman “addresses themes of power and cultural identity as filtered through language.” Her work questions contemporary norms of what communities find important and how they’ve been conditioned to respond to the world and each other. Bockelman is an Adjunct Professor in the Art Departments at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
