Here and Now: Recent Acquisitions focuses on a selection of artworks from over 250 accepted into MONA’s permanent collection since 2018. This group includes paintings, sculpture, photography, printmaking, collage, among other media created over a span of 150 years. Some works included in Here and Now are familiar to our MONA visitors, such as Nancy Friedemann-Sánchez’s noteworthy large-scale floral collage, Cornucopia, featured in MONA’s 2014 Mujeres exhibition which focused on the work of five contemporary Latina women artists. The addition of Cornucopia into the permanent collection, along with the other works included in Here and Now, is exemplary of MONA’s continuing commitment to celebrate the history of Nebraska’s visual art for diverse audiences. This exhibition brings our viewers the opportunity to experience the on-going growth of the Museum’s collection.
