Don Beardsley was born February 3, 1920 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He earned his B.F.A. degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence before relocating to California where he received his M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. Beardsley also lived in New York City for a time. During the late 1950s, he taught art at what is now the University of Nebraska at Omaha and at Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska.
Beardsley became known for abstract imagery and painting. His works have been exhibited at the Missouri Valley Arms Collectors Association in Kansas City, Missouri; the Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas; and the Regional Exhibition of Paintings in New York City. He died in Ventura, California in September of 1977.
