Artist Biography
Barbara Takenaga is a painter and printmaker who creates heavily patterned works that include cascading droplights from celestial skies, orbs suspended in tornadic forms, or “strings of pearls” leading back towards an off-center center, among other imagined environments. Her works are influenced by the large sky and grand space of the Nebraska prairie where she was born and raised. Takenaga currently resides in New York City.
