Artist Biography
The feminist movement experienced a third wave in the mid-1990s, building on previous achievements but with more inclusivity than previous movements.
In 1998, thirty women collaborated with the Nebraska Women's Caucus for Art to create three collections of linocut prints titled The Book of Bad Things. The prints were organized into three distinct volumes about women, children, and society. Volume One: Women features thirteen artists as they question or redefine womanhood, gender, and sexuality in contemporary society, issues that were brought to the fore by third-wave feminists.
