Volunteer – Would you like to become more involved at the Museum? You don't have to be an expert on art to become a valued member of the MONA team. The Museum relies on the dedication and commitment of volunteers to help sustain MONA in many ways. If you want to contribute your time, energy, and skills to create a place where people can be touched by art, MONA offers a range of volunteer opportunities for which we will train you.
Docent Program – The Docent team at MONA is an essential part of the Museum's education program, and performs one of the most important and far-reaching functions: introducing and deepening the experience of the exhibitions for tour groups of all ages.
As a MONA Docent, you can expect to participate in satisfying experiences working with the public. You also benefit by receiving special trainings and lectures by artists, art professionals, and community leaders, opportunities to be involved with special educational projects, and the chance to expand your understanding of art. Being a member of the Docent team increases involvement with the University of Nebraska Kearney and the greater Kearney community, and promotes academic excellence through the arts. The Docents at MONA are energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated to the program.
The Museum offers new docent training class each fall. Please call (308) 865-8975 to learn more about becoming a MONA Docent.
