Whooping Crane – Young (Sandhill Crane)

John James Audubon masterfully depicted the wildlife of 19th century America. Although primarily known for his stunning images of birds, he also created a series featuring four-legged mammals also called quadrupeds. Selections on view from MONA’s Audubon collection include two large-scale Sandhill crane prints in honor of that species’ spring migration through central Nebraska along with nine images of North American quadrupeds.
